September 2008 witnessed the capping of 40 years of success for the UAE-based Tiger Group, which was founded by Lebanese brothers Robert and Aziz Nasr. 

Today, the group enfolds a range of specialized and full-fledged companies serving the construction industry.

The first Tiger Company was founded in Dubai in 1968, with the aim of serving the construction industry in the UAE and the rest of the Gulf. The vision was to create a group that would be self-sufficient in serving itself and the construction industry’s needs in the Middle East. Over the next three decades, five more companies were launched, each specializing in various segments of the industry such as manufacturing, contracting and trading.

Today, the group encompasses six companies, specializing in engineering, manufacturing, contracting and trading: TigerSTEEL Engineering Limited; TigerPROFILES & Insulation LLC; Al Nimr Civil Engineering LLC; Al Nimr Steel Trading Limited; Tiger Steel Industries; and Tiger Steel Engineering India Limited.

In 1968, TigerSTEEL Engineering was launched for the manufacturing of steel structures, warehouses, industrial plants, tanks and silos as well as other related steel works. The company has today gained recognition as a key power to be reckoned with. Work is underway today in Abu Dhabi, to realize Tiger Steel’s ambitions to assert itself as the largest steel fabricating facility under one roof.

Emphasis is drawn into developing revolutionary technologies in steel fabrication and for which some of the machines that will be implemented are considered as prototypes in the steel manufacturing industry.

In 1998, TigerSTEEL established a 100% owned subsidiary TigerSTEEL Engineering (India) Ltd. (TSEIL), to expand the group’s activities in South East Asian countries. The  company is a leading PEB solution provider in India with its main office located at Navi Mumbai and manufacturing facilities at Mumbai (Western India) and Haridwar (Northern India).

Al Nimr Civil Engineering was established in 1990 and today focuses on the construction of Residential and Industrial Buildings, Warehouses in pre-engineered & hot rolled steel and buildings in R.C.C. & steel.

Nimr Civil also provides construction works right from earthworks, foundations and substructure to underground services and ancillary works as well as structural steel work which includes fabrication and erection of steelwork and MEP works.

Al Nimr offers a wide range of commercial  contracting options varying from the traditional lump sum method to unit rates for manpower, materials and equipment with performance guarantees and liquidated damage risks.

In the same year, 1990, Al Nimr Steel Trading was also established. Al Nimr Steel Trading LLC is a leading stockist and supplier of high quality structural steel products serving the Construction, Steel Fabrication, Marine and Oil & Gas sectors in the UAE and MENASA (Middle East, North Africa and South Asia) region. With its Head Quarters in Jebel Ali Free Zone, Nimr Steel has a large, highly automated storage yard in excess of 321,000 Sq. Ft. with state of the art logistics facilities. Structural Long and Flat Steel products in excess of 50,000 MT on average are held in stock in American (ASTM), British (BS), European (EN), Japanese (JIS) standards and in grades A36, S275JR, S355, A572 Grade 50, ASTM A516 60 - 70, and others and are supplied from stock and from Mills directly to clients projects and works.
